Prague in winter

The first snow has arrived to Prague! Although it had molten yet, the winter is almost here. Winter in Prague means crisp snow, Christmas markets, Advent concerts and ice-skating. Prague is absolutely stunning during the winter, the monumental buildings covering with snow and wrapped around in lights makes for pretty views and a wonderful old-world romance.

In this city everyone loves the snow and the city ice rinks. There are plenty of places where you can ice skate. Ice skating in the city is a real Czech experience! These places can be divided into three types: ice skating rinks which are located at public places within cities, ice skating rinks within hockey arenas, or (when the weather allows it) ice skating on ponds, lakes, rivers and water-reservoirs. Prague has many of which freeze over in winter. It is very enjoyable experience. Some of the most memorable moments ice skating are those in nature. But they are highly seasonal and mostly open only during the winter.

Upcoming temperatures have made it possible!
Prague has several outside ice skating rinks available for people to go to. Štvanice is one of the most famous. The skating rink is 15 by 30 meters. Skaters can flex their ice-bound talents on maintained-ice area. Skate rental is possible and you can warm up yourself with hot drink or food.

Would you like less busy activities? Experience the beauty and wonder of one of the world’s most romantic cities by taking a night tour. Even more romantic is seeing it at wintertime when the city decorated with lights and nativity scenes, Christmas markets taking place, quiet streets and festive carols playing. Take a walk through the Old Jewish quarter, continue along Pařížská street (modeled after Paris’s Avenue des Champs-Élysée), check out Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock, stroll along the Charles Bridge taking in the buildings along the Vlatava River and behold the beauty of the Old Town Bridge Tower and the illuminated Prague Castle.
