Trends in Prague’s Property Market

The situation in the Prague real estate market has not changed drastically in recent months. Expatriate relocations to the city have remained steady while property owners feel pressure to reduce prices as the supply of available properties remains high. At Home Prague manager Ulrika Uhrova provides an overview of the rental market in Prague.

This period marks a turning point in the property market, especially for expatriates moving abroad. After a busy summer relocation period, real estate activity has calmed. "Generally, I believe all cities are experiencing the same situation, where the busy period for house rental is almost over. School has started and families have moved in and out", Ulrika explains. At this stage, property owners renting out their homes will have to "reduce prices, hope for miracles or wait until next year" in order to find tenants.

Landlords aware of market conditions continue to feel pressure to reduce prices in response to weak demand. As Ulrika and other At Home agents often note, owners who are flexible come out on top.
