The New York Times featured an At Home Budapest loft in an article entitled, "House Hunting in...Budapest". The selected property is a two bedroom loft apartment in the 13th district of Budapest. At Home managing director, Zoltan Mezo, discussed this property with New York Times reporter Alison Gregor.
As Zoltan explained to the Times, this four-story building was once a gas pipe fittings factory and a military hospital. The building was restored in 2008 by internationally known architect Zoltán Tima and GTC Hungary Real Estate Development.

This lovely loft apartment is unique in Budapest, as there are very few lofts in the city. This one overlooks Margit Island, the Danube River and the hills of Buda. It is located in a four-story building which previously functioned as a gas pipe fittings factory and a military hospital.
This second floor apartment consists of a living room, kitchen with island, dining area, two bedrooms, plus luxury bathrooms. The article describes the features of the apartment including the spacious living room, kitchen and galleries. First rate materials and luxury detailing went into the interior design of the apartment, including stainless steel kitchen appliances, a freestanding ceramic tub with Italian-designed taps, designer Czech shower and heated towel racks.
Following a tour of the property, the article reviews the current buying conditions in Hungary and Zoltan offers his take on the luxury property market. He explains that lofts are rare in Budapest, elevating the selling price of this property. Furthermore, prices in the luxury real estate market did not decrease significantly because owners are willing to hold on to their properties in order to await lower prices.
