Just outside Prague, a development of cottages is sprouting up. The draw of this tranquil, quiet environment is strong on those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city while still having access to its conveniences.

The appeal of such residential areas is apparent. The scenic, natural surroundings and clean air combine with the convenience of residential living, including paved, well-lit roads and houses equipped with all necessary utility and communication lines.
Property prices in these areas are a bargain. Cottages currently available with At Home Prague (house + land) start at about 145 000 € while apartments in Prague 5 can sell for 200 000 €.

The newest additions to At Home Prague’s sale portfolio are cottages located in Libomyšl. The settlement is designed for 43 individual houses of various sizes and layouts. The homes, complete with water supply, sewage, electricity plus telephone and internet connections, are in a gated development. Plots are available with or without cottages, providing the buyer with the choice to move into a completed home or arrange for a custom-built one.
At an altitude of 285 meters, Libomyshl is close to mountains, forests a river, plus local infrastructure. The pine-covered Brdovskimi Mountains lie to the north of the village along with the Litavka River. You’ll see deer and rabbits wandering in the fields and trout swimming by in the river. There is a nearby horse ranch where you can rent horses and take a fascinating stroll through the neighborhood. Founded in 1370, the village population is about 460. Shopping and entertainment options are in nearby Zdice (4km from the the village) and Beroun (14 km). There are plenty of supermarkets, restaurants and cafes, a cinema, plus sport facilities (skating, watermarks, soccer stadiums and fields, tennis courts, bowling and a new golf course). A 20 minute (30 km) drive on the D5 motorway connects Libomyšl with Prague. Alternatively, there are bus or rail options.
